They got married in Maui and named their first born from Makena of Maui. That’s why we choose South Maluaka Beach to do their portrait session. We decided to do the morning session when their little ones are at the prime mood. I asked them to bring props for the photo shoot. We got leis, sand toys and daddy’s fancy surfboard!
Light changes quickly on this time of the day. When the sun pop’s out from the top of Haleakala, Photographer must see the light value difference of background and models and make a decision.
Their most important shot was all family of 4 looking at the camera smiling, the nice shot of the family. When I receive a specific request from my client, I take care of it at the beginning part of the session then loosen up a little bit then re-visit their request when all of them are well warm up to the camera.

マウイでウェディングをして数年後に子供達と一緒に島に戻ってくる、そんなお客様もよくいらっしゃいます。 嬉しいことです。こちらのハミルトンファミリーは思い出の場所マケナの地名を最初に生まれたお子さんのお名前に選びました。 その思い出の場所で家族写真の撮影です！
お子様たちのご機嫌が一番いいであろうと思う早朝の撮影をお選びになられました。 撮影開始は午前７時３０分です。
この時間はハレアカラの山頂から太陽が飛び出すとともに劇的に光の質が変わるので迅速な対応がフォトグラファーには迫られます。 起こり得るだろうパターンを数個考えながらカメラのセッティングを変えなければなりません。 それもまたこの仕事の醍醐味ですが〜。
今回のリクエストは家族全員がカメラに向かっていいお顔をしているショット、でした。 お子様が小さいうちはなかなか「当たり前」のようなショットもタイミングが難しいものです。 撮影の序盤にまずはリクエストをいただいたショットを数パターン違うバージョンで撮影をし、その後はちょっと和んでもらえるように動きを入れたショットを撮影します。 家族全員がカメラに馴染んできたところでもう一度動きをいれながら自然な表情のままでリクエストショットに再度挑戦。 そんな風にあっという間に撮影時間は過ぎていくのでしたー。
